About Melodie
Melodie Hawkins holds certifications as a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (American Council of Hypnotist Examiners), Forensic Hypnotist (National Guild of Hypnotists & Mindsight Consultants), and Certified Hypnotherapist (National Guild of Hypnotists). She's been a professional hypnotherapist since 2003. She was the FIRST Denver area hypnotist to do a Live Regression on local radio (talk radio, KOA 850 AM) in February 2004 during the Rick Barber overnight show. She was a regular guest on his show during 2003-2004.
She is also a Certified Reiki Master and Reiki Master Teacher (Usui; 2002 & 2007), Certified Karuna Healing Master and Karuna Healing Master Teacher (2003 & 2008), and Certified Advanced Practioner of Integrated Energy Therapy (2003), a form of cellular release therapy. (That one came with angels!) She's also had a Reconnective Healing done on herself (2003), and the practicioner activated her hands for that healing energy as well.
She's studied with Doreen Virtue, PhD (2005; www.angeltherapy.com), and also holds ordination from the Universal Life Church as a ULC Minister, Spiritual Counselor, and Soul Therapist. ULC also granted a Doctor of Metaphysics title. All ULC titles were granted in 2003.
Melodie is also a professional writer working in science and technology. Her first cover story byline was published in 1996 on nanotechnology, and her second was on new environmental technologies. The biggest lesson she learned working in a journalistic environment is this: The editing begins with which stories are published and which ones aren't. The second biggest was that you usually can't believe the marketing because the engineeers weren't consulted! ;> She's currently working on two book series for children: one series for ages 9 to 12 and the second for ages 5 to 8. An area of special interest is extremely sensitive, intuitive, creative, and artistic children. She's also drawn to work with animals. (And yes, there's a book on Triquetra Therapy™ in the works as well. :))
She holds a BS in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from Old Dominion University, and her writing was first recognized (and encouraged) in public school and later in college. She has professional experience in the following industries: travel & hospitality consultant, food service, veterinary medicine, chemistry labs (environmental & pesticide residue testing), environmental consulting (project management, environmental toxicology, toxicology, environmental chemistry, product chemistry, and agricultural chemistry), technology transfer (from ballistic missiles to nanotechnology and quantum transistors), and of course, information technology consulting in a variety of settings (HMOs, custom software applications, GIS, storage, federal defense contracting, and federal civilian contracting). She has been a consultant in one form or another since 1981.
