Nutrition

Good nutrition or a lack of it impacts the entire body --- physically, mentally, and emotionally.  More and more studies are showing that certain deficiences are linked to numerous physical and mental ailments, and that low-level food allergies have been linked to ADD/ADHD and autism.

What most people don't realize is that the FDA amounts on vitamins are the bare minimum necessary to prevent disease, such as scurvey, which results from a lack of Vitamin C. The amounts are not what we need to thrive.

Many chronic conditions need a multifacted approach because they do not result from any one trigger. That means working with your traditional western medical doctor, but also taking resonsibility for your own body, your own choices, and your own life.  That requires addressing not only the physical side of things, but also the emotional and spiritual side as well. And a large component of this is addressing how you feed and care for yourself. (This is also linked to your energy centers in the 1st and 2nd chakras and how you "mother" yourself.)

I have personally used nutrition and supplements, combined with the other therapies I practice, to help control conditions such as depression, insominia, hormonal imbalances, irritable bowel syndrome, herpes, and a recent "offical" diagnosis of severe endometriosis.

I am somewhat sensitive and my emotions and mind have a huge effect on my body. My mother was sensitive as well, and it is not unusal to find it running in families, both males and females. No matter your sex, the more intuitive, creative, and artistic you are, the more sensitive you tend to be, and the stronger the mind/body connection is in you.

Those of you who suffer with any of these ailments or any chronic condition know how annyoing and painful they can be. There was a point, before I started researching my own symptoms and changing my diet, that it was all I could do to drag myself from bed in the morning and go to work and drag myself home and climb back in bed. That was a very, very bad winter several years ago.

Since then, I have removed dairy, wheat, and soy from my diet and saw major improvements. I also helped the depression with amino acid supplements (specifically, 5-HTP at bedtime so the brain could use it to make the needed serotonin, melatonin to help sleep (the brain makes melatonin from serotonin, and if we don't have enough of it, then we also suffer the isominia symptoms), GABA (natural valium for extremely stressful suitations), the immune system with Glutamine (another amino acid) to help the gut repair damage from the dietary allergies (between 70%-90% of our immune system lines the GI tract), and natural anti-virals (oregano oil extract and olive leaf extract) combined with another amino acid (lyseine) to suppress the herpes virus as well as any prescription drug.

My medical doctor (MD) blesses these natural therapies stating that if they work just as well for me as the prescription drugs, then all the better because "they're easier on your body." Lord knows my body has had plenty of stress over the last 44+ years, and it doesn't need any more!

Added to those amino acid supplements are also an arsenal of vitamins and anti-oxidents and herbs for my specific conditions, along with regular exercise.

Now, I hear your moaning and groaning... and I didn't do all of this overnight either. I did it gradually and slowly. One major change at a time, and of course i fall off the wagon now and then (eliminating wheat is really hard --- it's in everything!), but then I climb right back on after a loving reminder to my body and myself (and my inner child) that I'm doing all of these things because I care about myself and my body and I plan to be around for another 40-50 years, so I'd like to have a clear mind and healthy body while I do it.

So when you come to see me, we'll also spend time talking about how well you care for or "mother" yourself and take responsibility for yourself and your body. No one else can do it, but you. But we can help you learn how to care for yourself properly.
